What's the difference between a vauxhall insignia 130 ecoflex model and am 140 ecoflex model?
Hi Triona,
Well, the obvious answer is that the difference is 10hp… It’s actually a bit more complicated than that. The 2.0-litre CDTi engine in the Insignia was co-developed with Fiat and when first used in the Insignia in 2008, it came in 110hp, 130hp and 160hp forms. In 2010 a twin-turbo version with 190hp was introduced, but that need not concern us here. When the Insignia was facelifted in 2013, the 140hp version of the engine was introduced and this is where it gets complicated. While the 130hp version carried on as before (with emissions of 119g/km), the 140hp model was given a stop-start system, and that trimmed its emissions down to just 99g/km. So the difference between the two engines is 10hp, and €20 worth of tax every year.
