Sync3 is essentially an all-new infotainment system that has new graphics, a new three-pane layout and is compatible with smartphone systems such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Ford claims that it's easier and more intuitive to use, and that it has tablet-style pinch, swipe and zoom capability. It seems as if the wifi hotspot ability of the old Sync system is gone though - to connect Sync3 to the internet you need to connect through your phone.
