Could an Avensis tow 12-15 sheep?

Is the 2ltr avensis suitalbe for pulling a trailer carrying approx 12/15 sheep

Our answer:

Hi Angela,

It might do but we wouldn’t recommend it – the highest possible towing capacity of a 2.0-litre diesel Avensis is 1,500kg of braked trailer. Assuming an average sheep weighs about 60kg, the weight of that amount of livestock is going to be knocking on 720-900kg as it is, and most trailers big enough and secure enough to take that many animals will be 300kg and more. You have some leeway here but there are better towcars, for livestock at least, than a Toyota Avensis.
