Costs to import a classic from Japan?
Hi, was just looking at importing a car from japan, its over 30 years old and is around 22,000 euros including any shipping fees. Do you know how much i would be paying in taxes to bring it into ireland? Thank you.

Hi Adam,
The VRT should be a flat €200 as it's over 30 years old.
Import duty will be 10 per cent of the cost of the car and shipping, so 10 per cent of €22,000 in your case, i.e. €2,200.
VAT will be charged at 23 per cent of the price of the car.
