Importing cars from the UK is incredibly common here in Ireland, so it’s worth looking at if you can’t source the Jeep you want in the classifieds. Bear in mind all the costs of getting the car over here and properly registered will affect your overall buying budget, although the weakness of the UK pound might play in your favour at the moment. As to the Jeep’s reliability, it’s a brand that has a few more issues than perhaps some European marques, but the main reported faults are niggling problems, rather than drastic failures – and it’s always the case that the cars that fail are in the minority of those in ownership, rather than the majority, so find a well looked-after example and you should be fine.
