Cheapest cars for first-time driver insurance?

What's the cheapest car to get insured on for a first time driver

Our answer:

Hi Lance,

It’s more about the driver than the car to be honest and sadly it’s simply never going to be cheap. The best thing you can do is buy a car with an engine as close to 1.0-litre capacity as possible. Nissan Micras are good, ditto VW Up and Polo, Opel Corsa, Suzuki Alto and basic Fiat Panda. Then it's a case of shopping around for the best insurance quote.
