Most versions of that generation Santa Fe used a timing chain, but there was a 2.2 CRDi diesel engine (codenamed D4EB-V) made between 2006 and 2010 that had a timing belt, so check the engine code if you can, as it's possible it made its way into a car registered in 2011. For the record, the change interval is 160,000km or every 10 years. For 'adverse conditions' the belt needs to be changed more regularly - every 80,000km or 2.5 years.
