Can you recommend a big luxury saloon?
I currently have a 2006 Kia Sorento auto. I want to go back to a large saloon next year (used) with a €15k max budget. I am looking at the Jag XF diesel and the late 2006 new-shape S-Class. I was looking at BMW 525/530 and the Audi A6 too, but there are so many around they are kinda boring now. I may get a petrol XF / S-Class as I want he big luxury but also performance. Can you recommend a big luxury petrol 3.0 max / diesel 3.2 max car with auto box that's a motorway muncher but also fun to drive?

Hi Mick,
I think you've picked out two utter belters there. The Jag XF is one of my favourite cars, and in 3.0 D S form it's both a comfy mile-muncher and a proper sports saloon - terrific steering and fun to drive. Gorgeous and well made too.
The S-Class is maybe a touch more predictable and not near so much fun to drive but it's superbly luxurious and amazingly comfy and refined. A real mobile sofa, albeit one with safety levels that would shame a bank vault.
So, my personal choice would be the Jag but the sensible money probably says S-Class.
