Rate the 1.5 petrol automatic Volkswagen TRoc.
Hi Brid,
We think it’s the best petrol engine for the T-Roc. While the 1.0-litre is charismatic and the 2.0-litre is punchy, neither of them is particularly good on fuel as a result – the 1.0 because you have to work it harder to keep up with traffic, and the 2.0 because of its size. The 1.5, however, with its clever cylinder deactivation, is pretty good on fuel and it feels perfectly fast enough for daily driving. The DSG is simply a case of personal preference: it’s an excellent gearbox, but then so’s the six-speed manual that is fitted to the 1.5 TSI as standard.
