Can you clarify the tax rules?
Hi. I don't understand your answer... To clarify. If I buy/register a vehicle in July that the tax lapsed in February (so 3-4 months tax unpaid) I only pay from the date I register the vehicle in my name. So I pay for July onwards. Thanks Sarah

That is correct. A new owner of a vehicle is only responsible for the tax from the date of change of ownership. If there is tax outstanding before that, then the previous owner is responsible for it.
