Can my daughter sell her car right after coming back from the UK?
Hi my daughter is moving back to Ireland with her car from the UK where she has lived for the last 7 years having now being relocated. She would wish to dispose of the car as she is now walking distance to work and has no parking facilities. What are the conditions to be put in place for the resale of the UK car or can you refer me directly to a revenues site. Regards Liam

Hi Liam,
Assuming your daughter is going to avail of the Transfer of Residence process to avoid paying any VRT, then she cannot sell the car within 12 monthsof its registration in Ireland. If she does, she will be liable for the VRT.
