Hi, I am wondering what are the current COVID restrictions in relation to purchasing a car? If I live in Dublin can I travel to another county to test drive/ buy a car? Thanks
Hi Ciara,
Every situation is different. For most people, this would constitute breaking the rules/restrictions, as buying/testing a car is not deemed to be essential. However, I guess it's possible that a frontline worker might require a new car to get to work, and then the purchase may be essential. The rules don't cover all situations, but most would interpret them as saying that it is not allowed to travel to test and buy a car unless absolutely necessary.
