Can I save much by buying a Japan import?
Can I save much by buying a japan import. Is the import process easy to do. Should I go to japan and do everything myself. Or get a japan dealer to do the japan side and me do the ireland side. Or should i get an irish import dealer to do everything. I am looking for a sport coupe ex nissan 350z honda s2000

Hi Jeff,
It's certainly easier to get a local dealer to do all the donkey work for you, but there's an undeniable sense of romance and adventure about going out to Japan yourself. Mind you, with air fares and accommodation prices, you'll probably eat up all your budget. It's certainly possible to save money, but you might actually be better off shopping in from the UK market as the exchange rate is so good at the moment and there are plenty of Japanese car specialists around. Removes the language barrier too.
