Can I get an MOT instead of an NCT?
I live in Ireland my nct is out but its booked in but can't be tested until December because of the backlog I want to drive to England for a few days can I get a mot done on my car in holyhead to continue on my trip

We don't believe that an Irish-registered car can be put through the MOT in the UK. If you're worried about potential issues with the car itself, then have a good mechanic check it over. If you're worried about the legality of driving the car, then proof of a booking should suffice. The issues with the NCT backlog in Ireland are well documented.
