Can I find out who owns my old car?
Hi, I owed a car a few years ago, and I’d love to contact the current owner and buy it back!! Do you know any way at all that I could find out who owns a certain registration, so that I could make contact? I’ve done a vehicle search, and it appears to be active, but I cannot find a way to get the owners details. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Hi Pat,
I'm afraid that's just not possible via official means. Your only option is to try to contact the person you sold the car to and go through the chain of buyers and sellers that way, but even then, it's arguably against data protection and privacy rules for other people to disclose who they sold the car to.
