Are the rules in ireland same as uk. With vat and BIK on ford ranger raptors 2.0 diesel given the pay load etc they are saying now you cannot claim vat back on ford raptor and its at the high end of BIK??
Hi David,
The UK and Ireland have different rules, but we advise you check all of this with your accountant before committing to a purchase.
Revenue doesn’t quote a specific payload figure, but VAT and BIK rules hinge on whether a vehicle is classed as a ‘goods vehicle’. Some argue that with a payload of under a tonne, the Raptor does not qualify, but we've yet to find that specifically defined anywhere by Revenue. And the Raptor undoubtedly is classed as a commercial when it comes to motor tax.
