Can I change my Verso's service light?

Can you turn a floating service off on a Toyota corrolla verso ?

Our answer:

Hi John,

Not really. In common with many cars, the Verso uses its engine management system to recommend when to bring your car for a service, based on the distance you’ve driven, the time since last service and the condition of the oil. If a service light has come on, you really should just get the car checked out and serviced — it might be a faff, but it’s the best (and cheapest) option in the long run. If you’ve had the car serviced and the indicator light hasn’t gone out, then there is a reset procedure: turn the ignition switch to the “On” position, but do not start the engine. Press the odometer button until you see Trip A on the little screen. Then, turn the ignition off again. Then press and hold the trip odometer reset button, and turn the ignition switch to the “On” position. Continue to hold down the Trip Odometer Reset button until 000000KM appears on the display and the maintenance light turns off.
