
Hey. Is it safe for the z16xer engine to replace a standard thermostat 105 degrees to an uncontrolled thermostat 92 degrees? The purpose of the work is to reduce the operating temperature of the engine.

While that would probably not damage the engine in any way, it could have knock-on effects on performance, emissions and fuel economy that you're not expecting. On top of that, the engine management system may not like that the engine is operating at a different temperature and may not work properly.
Without knowing your reason for doing this, we'd suggest that it's not a great idea, but it's unlikley to be 'unsafe' as you ask.
