Would adding electrics and a solar panel to a van pass a cvrt test
Hi Kathryn,
Adding a solar panel, leisure battery and camper-style electrics to a van will not automatically make it fail the CVRT. It should pass provided everything is properly installed, securely mounted, correctly fused, safely routed and in good condition. The tester will be concerned with visible safety issues like loose wiring, unfused circuits, household-type cable, cables rubbing on sharp edges, insecure battery mounting, leaks, poor ventilation where required or roof/body modifications that look unsafe.
If it is a simple, professional 12-volt leisure setup with a securely fitted solar panel and battery, it should not be a problem in itself.
