We’d really need to know which Skoda model you’re talking about, because the general rule of thumb is that you can tow 85 per cent of your car’s kerb weight if you’re an inexperienced tower and 100 per cent of it if you’re experienced. Obviously, if you’ve got a 1.6 Fabia, it’ll be able to tow less than a 1.6 Octavia or 1.6 Superb, which are bigger cars. Assuming you’ve got a 1.6 TDI Octavia, it should be around 1,300kg so it should be able to pull a one-tonne caravan.
