This is to do with the location of the battery pack on the 330e – it’s underneath the boot floor, so BMW does not recommend fitting a towbar. The X5 xDrive40e can be fitted with a towbar, though, so it might be worth looking into whether a third-party towbar might fit your 330e. Going through BMW, though, you’re not going to be able to fit one and fitting one might invalidate any warranty you have as well, so check out that first. There are plenty of hybrids that can be fitted with tow bars.
