Hi Bruce,
It might physically fit in, but it would be a world of pain to get it to work properly. Electronics, and specifically the electronic control of an engine, has rapidly advanced and it would take huge effort to get a 2002 Astra's electrics etc. to work with such a modern engine. We'd highly recommend you do not attempt that transplant.
