BMW's timing chain issue well known?
Have had to change the timing chain on BMW 520D 2011.Is there a General problem with this model.160k on clock

That BMW engine did have a well-documented issue with its timing chains early in its life, though BMW claims it was all dealt with well before 2011. Saying that, you're not the first person to have a later car with the issue.
