The old rule of thumb is to maximise value, buy a car at two years old and sell it at five. That holds true today, and as long as you find a decent personal loan rate or dealer finance deal, then you will be doing just fine. Of the two cars I’d go for the Discovery Sport as it’s roomier and nicer to drive than the X1, which is a little on the small side.
