BMW warranty question on import...
I am looking at buying a used BMW from a BMW main dealer in the UK. They say the years warranty from BMW does not cover Ireland, though they said it was a European warranty. They did not sound too clear on it. Have you experience with BMW Ireland covering warranty claims from BMW UK or elsewhere? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We checked with BMW Ireland and here was the response:
"The OEM / European manufacturer warranty is two years on a BMW and if the customer bought in the UK these two years would be covered in Ireland. We currently offer a three-year manufacturer warranty to customers in Ireland, however the third year is supplemented by BMW Ireland, so therefore if he buys abroad it is not guaranteed it is covered. There may be a supplemented warranty in the UK that is outside the two-year OEM that is outside of our control. "
