There actually aren’t any scrappage schemes, technically speaking. There is no scrappage programme from the government at the moment, so the so-called scrappage offers are actually just bonuses on your trade-in. Nissan’s has probably been the best of late, offering as much as €4,000 off the price of some models, but if you’re looking for a good deal, you might be better off waiting until July — the market is down a bit this year so more than likely some pretty good offers will be rolled out for the 172 registration period.
