Lots to choose from in that price range, and it kind of depends what you need. It’s a budget that will get you, for instance, a 2008 Audi A3 1.9 TDI, a 2010 Honda Civic 2.2 i-CDTI, a 2007 Mercedes-Benz E 280 CDI, a 2005 BMW X5 3.0d M Sport, a 2012 Renault Megane 1.5 dCi, a 2009 Toyota Avensis 2.0 D-4D or even a 2006 Volvo XC90 2.4 D5.
Personally? I wouldn’t look past that 2010 Civic 2.2 – reliable, spacious, comfortable and good to drive. Mind you, we did also find a 2009 Alfa Romeo 1.9 2.0 JTDM Lusso and I have to admit it’s tempting, if risky…
