Well, it does depend a little bit on your priorities, but from the cars you’ve listed there, here’s our preference, in descending order — Civic (huge inside, incredibly reliable, really good to drive, slightly pricey); Golf (there’s a reason 40 million of them have been made); Astra (very smart cabin and very, very good to drive); Kia Cee’d (about to be replaced, but very good and very reliable); Focus (great to drive, but plain cabin and to be replaced very soon); and finally Audi A1 (classy, but very expensive and much smaller than any of the other cars here).
