It depends on your budget and requirements. There are a lot of premium plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUVs right now, the best being the Audi Q7 (choose from the 55 or 60 TFSI e models), the BMW X5 xDrive45e and the Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine. If you don’t need a big seven-seater like the XC90, you can always look at the smaller XC60 T8, which is just as nice.

There’s also the Lexus RX 450h, which is striking looking, and you can have it as the 450hL if you need seven seats. Going smaller, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is Europe’s best-selling plug-in hybrid, while both Toyota and Honda do decent mid-sized SUV hybrids in the form of the RAV4 and CR-V, respectively.
