You don’t say which size hatchback you want, but in the supermini class, it’s hard to look beyond the Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Polo or SEAT Ibiza; moving up, try the Hyundai i30, Kia Ceed, Skoda Octavia or Honda Civic; and in the class above that, the Ford Mondeo or Opel Insignia Grand Sport. All of the above have automatic gearbox options.
