Belts or chains in 2012-2015 Polos?
Hi , just looking at buying a 2012 -2015 Polo , 1 or 1.2 litre , do they have timing belts or chain, thanks in advance, Emmett

Up to 2014, all the 1.2-litre engines in the Polo (turbocharged or not) used timing chains.
The 1.0-litre engine was only introduced in 2014, and they all use timing belts.
There was a significant model update in 2014 and after that, all the 1.2-litre engines used timing belts.
That means there could be a belt or a chain in a 2014 car, but if you get to know the look of the updated model, you can rest assured it features a timing belt.
