Belt or chain in this Insignia?
Does a 2017 Vauxhall Insignia diesel grand sport 1.6 turbo have a timing chain or belt. I am thinking of buying but it had done 52000 miles. Is there anything else I should look out for?

Hi Peter,
The 1.6 diesel engine uses a chain. The car is quite new so not many issues that we know of other than the brake pedal feeling 'hard' if the car has been parked up a long time. It's a fiddly fix, so insist the seller gets it done before you shake on a deal. There's also a potential problem with the turbo piping that causes an engine management fault and reduction in power, so watch out for any warning lights as ever.
