Belt or chain in my Golf 1.2?
Does my 2015 VW GOLF COMFORTLINE.1.2TSI BLUEMOTION have a timing belt or timing chain ? It’s a Japanese import. If it is timing belt what is the range for changing interval. Please let me know. Thanks so much

Hi Hasan,
That engine has a timing belt, but according to Volkswagen it's a maintenance-free design. Apparently it can go unchecked until the car has done over 300,000km or it's over 15 years old.
Personally, I'd get it checked by a good mechanic more frequently than that to make sure it's in good condition.
