Belt or chain in my 2015 Opel diesel?
Hi there,I have a 2015 plate,1.6,cdti sri. Could you please tell me if it has a timing chain or belt. I keep getting mixed opinions online. Thanks

Hi Karl,
Presumably that's an Opel Astra, though the Insignia used the same engine. Anyway, the 1.6 CDTi engine of that age 100 per cent has a timing chain. The confusion might be coming from the fact that there was an older 1.7-litre CDTi engine in Opels - and that has a timing belt.
