Skoda fabia 2014 1.2 does it have a timing belt or chain

There were lots of different 1.2-litre engines in the Fabia of that year and, to confuse things, there was a model changeover around then too. For starters, the 1.2 TDI diesel engine uses a timing belt. In the older shape car, the 1.2-litre petrol engines (both naturally aspirated and TSI turbo) use timing chains. Only the 1.2 TSI carried over to the newer Fabia, but in fact it's a different engine with a timing belt instead.
