The later common rail TDI engine in the RS uses a timing belt, which must be changed every 180,000km regardless of time. It's the same for the petrol model from 2006 to 2009, though the petrol engine moved over to a timing chain in 2008 so there is some overlap there, just to confuse things.

The earlier (up to 2009, but your car may have this engine) diesel RS engine's belt should be changed every 150,000km, regardless of time.
