It depends on which engine is in the car and the Ibiza changed generation around 2008-2009 as well. We are assuming you mean the newer model. All the diesel versions have timing belts, so that's easy. It varies on the petrol engines, though. Most have timing chains with one of the few exceptions being the 1.4 non-TSI unit.
