Avensis or Golf?
I have recently retired and was thinking of investing in a new Golf (petrol )but my wife would like a Toyota Avensis(petrol)How do these cars compare, in driving eg toad holding suspension and cabin noise. Thank you

Hi Frank,
Far be it from us to denigrate the Toyota, but the Volkswagen is the superior car of the two. It’s a little bit of a case of comparing apples to oranges, as the Avensis is a D-segment saloon whereas the Golf is a C-segment hatch, but the Golf is quieter, smoother to drive, has a better chassis and superior drivetrains. It also has by far and away the better interior.
