Both are very classy, very well made premium hatches and both make very good choices. The Merc just has the edge on driving pleasure I'd say, thanks to sharper steering, but the Audi hits back with more handsome styling and a more roomy cabin. I reckon the Merc just has the edge on fuel consumption though.
