Looking to purchase a new vehicle in Jan 2019 and I have looted at the new Audi A6 in S/Line 204 BPH and the VW Aerton R/Line 190 BPH. The price difference is not huge but which car would be the better buy. I do 10000 MILES annually and now feel I dont need a diesel. Your opion please on the car and if it should be pertol or diesel
Hi Paddy,
We normally say 20,000km per annum is the threshold for whether you need diesel or not these days, so if you do less then go petrol and if you do more, go diesel (very broadly speaking). As 10,000 miles is 16,000km, you can probably go for a petrol. This kind of makes your decision for you – at the moment, there’s only a ‘55’ TFSI engine in the Audi, which is great (340hp), but expensive. However, the Arteon does 190hp diesel and petrol models, and we think it’s a fantastic-looking thing, so go for the Volkswagen 2.0 TSI.
