
my opel corsa 1.8 ldv runs at 92 degrees maximum on a hot day in town driving but on the open road she runs approx 70 - 80 degrees. is this correct. many thanks. Mark

The fact that there's a difference certainly sounds about right, as the higher flow of air at speed cools the engine more. It may, however, indicate that the cooling system isn't working very efficiently, as by right the system should attempt to keep it at a consistent temperature. It might be worth checking the electrical fan, the thermostat and the radiator itself.
