Are there any known problems with the Nissan Qashai 141 model?
Hi Kevin,
That depends. If you mean the new-shape Qashqai, then the short answer is that we don’t know – that model hasn’t been around for long enough for us to get a solid handle on how reliable it is (or isn’t). Still, given Nissan’s generally very good reputation when it comes to reliability, and the known high quality of assembly from its home factory in Sunderland, it’s a pretty safe bet. Now, if you mean the old-shape Qashqai, of which there were still a few knocking around on 141 plates, then the news is also good, tempered with a few specific things to look for. Check the interior for any signs of dampness or a musty smell that could indicate a leaking windscreen seal. Check the clutch for smooth action and any nasty smells or, worse, any clutch smoke. And have a good listen for any knocking or clonking noises from the rear suspension. The rear dampers are a known weak point and if they’re noisy, they need replacing.
