The problem is that people with growing families are scrambling to buy seven-seaters at the moment, as once you need to fit three child seats in, that’s what you’re effectively locked into buying. That’s creating scarcity and driving up prices. Finding an eight-seater is trickier again, as you’re out of the conventional car market then and into commercial vehicle conversions, which are prized by such as taxi fleet operators. We did find a nine-seat Fiat Scudo, from 2011, for €23,950.
