If you mean the current, new Space Star small hatchback, then it should be a good, reliable buy (backed up by Mitsubishi’s eight-year warranty), but it’s a bit tinny, small and slow. If you mean the older Space Star, which was a larger car, a mini-MPV really, then you need to look for signs of abuse (rough-sounding engine at high rpm is a giveaway) and make sure that it’s been serviced and maintained properly. Other than that, they're pretty solid.
