I am currently driving a 2002 Ford Focus and I am looking to change my car. I had being looking for a 1.6 as I would like more power. My mechanic said that cars over the last few years have different types of engines so a 1.2 engine to a 1.4 engine is now the equivalent of a 1.6. Would this be true?
Hi Roxanne,
In general, that is true, though it applies only to turbocharged engines, which most are nowadays. Go drive a few for yourself so you get a feel for the difference.
