Are my Ford's lights ok?

i recently purchased a new ford explorer premium EV. the light settings are set to RHD not LHD (which we drive on in Ireland. The toggle settings in the car let you change to LHD after a couple of goes but defaults back to RHD when the car has been switched off and on again. I have raised this issue with Ford but they are unable to offer a solution. surely with RHD the beam is set to the wrong side of the road in the night time. No one has raised this issue according to my local Ford dealer and they checked with Ford UK. Surely this is an issue that Ford should be addressing. I spent a lot on this car to ensure I had everything in I wanted and would last me for a number of years. I had an ID3 before and no issue with lights. This may only seem minor but how do I get it addressed. Surely when these cars start having their NCT to lights will not pass. The settings seem to be for Europe/US but not for Ireland/UK. surely this has been flagged at some stage. Your advice would be very helpful.

Our answer:

Hi Eileen,

I'm very surprised that Ford cannot help.

You've since messaged us telling us that the system says "Travel Mode - Driving on the right".

Within those settings it should be possible to correct it as you have tried, but it sounds like this car's systems have been set up as if it was indeed a left-hand-drive vehicle.

I can only suggest that you demand Ford fixes this issue or that they take the car back and refund you.
