It’ll be Bluemotion Technology, which is different to a full Bluemotion model – there are four of these, based on older Polo, Passat, Golf and Touran, which used aerodynamic tweaks, low-rolling resistance tyres and other tricks to return high fuel economy figures. Learnings from these Bluemotion vehicles were then filtered into the ‘regular’ range of diesel and turbocharged petrol engines in the Volkswagen Group  in order to save fuel, without the extensive aero amendments – so features like stop-start, gearchange indicators and regenerative braking systems. All Jetta diesels from 2011 onwards should be Bluemotion Technology-equipped as standard.
