Anything wrong with Mazda's diesel?

The Mazda 2.2 Diesel engine is reported to be a bad engine. Is this true

Our answer:

Hi Paul,

No, it’s most certainly not. In fact, as with most things Mazda, it’s a good deal more reliable than most car makers’ efforts. The only flaw is that it tends to be more thirsty than some of the competition, but that can be alleviated with a little practice and a little tailoring of your own driving style.
