If it’s a seven-seat SUV you’re looking for then it’s hard to look past a Hyundai Santa Fe – big, rugged and good looking, there are lots about and they’re hugely reliable and solidly built. They do get a bit pricey to run though, especially the previous generation model, so you might want to look to a smaller MPV to keep running costs down. Touran, Verso, Carens are the ones you need to start looking at first.
