Is there any problems on the 2012 ford focus 1.6 ti vct trend 5dr. A am looking to buy one but it has 233km on the clock any advice
Hi Donnovan,
Generally speaking, the Focus is a solidly-built and reliable car, with few major problems. The Ti-VCT engine does at least swerve you away from any issues with diesel particulate filters etc. There don’t appear to be any major reported issues, but you do need to keep an eye on the complicated variable valve timing gear. If you hear a diesel-like rattling on a cold start up, or the engine seems to lose power at inconsistent points, then there’s likely an issue with that, and it can be quite expensive to repair. As for the mileage, it’s certainly very high, but if the car comes with a full service history and is in good condition overall, it wouldn’t concern us too much.
